About Us
H&MV Engineering is a trusted name in the electric power transmission industry. Established in 1997, we have quickly become a leading specialist in high voltage Transmission and Distribution systems.
Our leading position in the market allows us to expand our services worldwide – we’re currently present in EU, UK, Asia and South Africa, exploring further possibilities to expand and finding ways to leverage the experience we gain internationally.
Our main expertise is in the design and build of substations up to 420 kV. We have successfully completed projects across many sectors – Transmission and Distribution, Renewables, Data Centres, Manufacturing and Pharmaceuticals, to name a few.

PJ began his career with H&MV in 1998 as its first electrical Apprentice. He quickly became a driving force within the company. His time spent “on the tools” coupled with his keen business acumen has provided PJ with the knowledge and skillset to position him favourably in steering an industry leader such as H&MV. Displaying a relentless desire to achieving the highest possible standards, PJ empowers those who come in contact with him.
In 2010 PJ became a director with a personal ambition to make H&MV a brand leader within the industry globally. PJ’s focus has always been on developing offerings of EPC energy solutions to major industry users and utilities worldwide. Enda has 18 successful years’ experience working in the electrical power industry. Having joined H&MV Engineering in 2001, Enda has progressed through the company holding previous roles of service engineer, maintenance manager, and Director of Asset Management. Since 2001 Enda has spearheaded many of the milestone advancements and developments of the business such as the implementation of the HSQE Integrated Management System. During his time as head of function in Asset Management, Enda propelled the division to expand its reach internationally. Enda is responsible for strategic market development.

H&MV Engineering Ltd. ISO, Lloyds and Achilles approved Integrated Management System is made up of 17 sections and over 400 procedures, documents and records. Integrating all our systems and processes into one complete framework, enabling us to work as a single unit with unified objectives.
ISO 9001:2015
H&MV are accredited to ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. We were originally certified in July 2013 and re-certified to the updated standard in July 2016.

ISO 45001:2018
H&MV are accredited to ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management systems. We were certified in June 2018.

H&MV are accredited to Achilles Category B2 (Supply Line and UBVD), we were certified in March 2016.

ISO 14001:2015
H&MV are accredited to ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System. We were originally certified in August 2013 and re-certified to the updated standard in July 2016.

Lloyd’s Register
H&MV are accredited to Lloyd’s Register EMEA National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) under Construction, Cable Jointing, Overhead Lines Wooden Pole, Substation Installation and Design: HV Cable Networks. We were certified in June 2016.

Development Programmes:
Graduate Development Programme - Ireland
H&MV Engineering’s Graduate Development Programme, with a duration of 2 years, consists of 4 rotations through Commissioning and Design, with the optional component of a rotation with our Maintenance department.
Our graduate programme is focused on honing in on the skills and knowledge that the graduates gained throughout their education, moulding them into experienced Electrical Engineers.
H&MV also offer our graduates the opportunity to become a member of Engineers Ireland, helping them with the process of becoming Chartered Engineers.
Apprentice Development Programme - Ireland
H&MV Engineering have a unique Apprentice Development Programme for on-the-job phases of the SOLAS Electrical Apprenticeship.
This is a purpose built training, developmental and educational programme for High Voltage Apprentice Electricians and will be rolled out to all our apprentices.
The modules covered in the apprentice development programme include:
- Stations, Safety,
- Protection and Control,
- Maintenance,
- Commissioning,
- Cables and
- Design.
This programme has been designed to provide our apprentices with the ideal forum to learn and develop the skills and knowledge required within the High voltage specialist services industry through mentoring, encouragement and assessment.
H&MV invest heavily in the training and development of staff each year and we see this programme as a further initiative that will attract more people to join the H&MV team as we continue to provide excellent career opportunities for honest, reliable and hardworking people.

There are many other sports that we actively promote, and the Company is involved in the sponsorship of various local teams in GAA, rugby, soccer etc. Along with this, many of our employees actively participate and many more are involved in coaching and development in sport.
- H&MV actively engages with Third Level Colleges and Universities fostering these relationships in efforts to develop the availability of skilled labour in the market. We have a number of collaborative placements positively working within the organisation including Co-operative Education; University/Third Level Placement Programmes; Graduate Development and Apprentice Development Schemes.
- H&MV’s Training Academies provide specialist training not alone to internal employees but external contacts also, supporting our commitment to developing skilled labour in the community and industry.
H&MV employees are actively involved in educational and skills development committees and initiatives; again, in an effort to bring skilled labour to the industry.
