Technical Information

  • Project management and commissioning of a new GIS 110 kV Substation and the associated Data Centre switchgear at 20 kV
  • Electrical design and build of 12 no. 110 kV bays connecting to the transmission system,
    current transformers, voltage transformers, 50 / 63 MVA transformers, capacitive indicators and circuit breakers. Electrical design and installation of the 110 kV Cable route
  • The 12 bay 110 kV GIS contained 4 no. transformer bays, 2 no. grid cable bays, 2 no. spare bays, 2 no. sectionalise and 2 no. coupler bays
  • Daily tool box talks, weekly progress and safety meetings, issue and risk management along with regular status reporting
  • Adherence to all the client’s procedures and protocols regarding security and confidentiality
  • Liaison with the client, client owner’s engineer, local authorities and EirGrid
  • Responsible for earthing studies and earthing designs, and main and check metering
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of all HV and MV
    equipment
  • Commissioned 8 no. 20 kV panels of ABB Unigear switchgear with comms 600 controllability
  • Design and installation of spare 20 kV bays to allow for future proofing Data Centre
    expansion
  • Produce a complete set of civil and electrical as-built drawings and Safety Handover file
