Accounts Receivable Assistant, Limerick HQ

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Financial Controller this person’s primary objective will be to support the Finance Team. He/she will assist with month end process, preparation and posting of journals, preparation of invoices/statements, bank reconciliations, credit control and general administrative/finance duties within a busy Accounts Receivable Function.

Due to recent expansion at H&MV Engineering an opportunity now exists for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our professional team at our office in Limerick.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain register of quotations issued
  • Generate sales invoices and issue to customers
  • Follow up on, collect and allocate payment receipts
  • Perform debtor account reconciliations and monitor for non-payment or delayed payments
  • Monthly bank reconciliations (multiple accounts in multiple currencies)
  • Process credit card payments and perform monthly reconciliation
  • Communicate with customers
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve client billing issues

Skills/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ accounts experience within a busy A/R Function
  • An Accounting Technician Qualification would be advantageous
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent Interpersonal & Communication Skills
  • Ability to multitask and experience of working to targets and deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
  • Attention to detail with high accuracy in numeracy and data entry
  • Diplomacy and ability to deal with confidential information
  • A good team player who works well in a team environment but can also work remotely
  • A motivated individual who possesses strong initiative and a desire to succeed
